project description
Two artificial- and four natural grass soccer-fields, one sprint hill, a building with approx. 3.500 m² useable area and much more qualify the Soccer-Academy Burgenland as one of the most modern ones in Europe.
Located on a hill in the East of Mattersburg, the soccer-fields as well as the building fit in well on several levels in the surrounding landscape. From the upper floors one can enjoy the spectacular view of the municipality Mattersburg.

The Academy-building with the attached roofed public stand form the frame of the open-air grounds. The ascending levels of the hill have been utilized in order to create entrances to each zone of the building at ground level. On the lowest floor are located the dressing rooms and a fitness-studio. They are on the same level as the main soccer-field and the hall (which was designed later). On the next floor (the actual ground floor), one finds the main entrance, the cafeteria with the kitchen, seminar-rooms and the office-wing. Above, there are two more floors with rooms for pupils and advisors. They are connected to each other by galleries, which form ample recreation rooms.

Special attention has been paid to the sustainability of this project: the water for the extensive watering of the soccer fields is taken from a pond which is being spring- and rain-water-fed. The  energy supply of the building is being provided by biomass in combination with solar cells.

The soccer-Academy Mattersburg offers an ideal training-campus for the soccer-players of the future.
